What are the types of solar power plants?
The main types of solar power plants:
– Mains – direct current from the batteries enters the inverter, which converts it into AC. Does not require batteries, all excess energy goes to the general network.
– Autonomous – (direct current) – in contrast to the network can provide an uninterruptible power supply. In addition to the standard installation, the station provides storage systems.
– Hybrid – involves the use of combined sources of renewable energy and can combine the properties of backup and network SES.
Where can I install a solar power plant?
Solar power plants and photovoltaic batteries can be installed on specially designated land plots, on the roofs of buildings and industrial premises or on the facade of a building. Configuration may vary by requirements and location.
It is optimal to place solar panels on the ground or on roofs in places with high levels of insolation. The required number of solar panels, inverter power and additional equipment is calculated according to the needs of electricity consumption.

Modern world cannot exist without electricity, so with the development of technology, people in steps were trying to find newer and more advanced ways to obtain it. Nowadays, solar power plants are gaining more and more popularity – especially for those who run their own business.
A solar power plant (SPP) is an integrated equipment that converts solar radiation into electric energy. The basis of the station is solar panels that capture solar energy, and an inverter that converts it into alternating current suitable for use in household and industrial electric power lines. To create an electricity generation plant, it is enough to correctly develop a project and select the required equipment.
Solar stations are often mixed up with photovoltaic stations, and they are really similar systems, however, a photovoltaic station operates only on the basis of photovoltaic panels (the function of solar ones is more expanded). In general, both technologies are well suited for business, the main thing is to choose the best solution for personal demands.
A solar power plant, contrary to stereotypes, can operate even in cloudy weather and does not require a special place for installation. It can be even the facade of a house or a roof. However, solar power plants for business have a number of other advantages. First of all, it is savings on utility bills and protection against tariff increases. In addition, autonomous or backup power makes it possible to operate uninterruptedly, even during power outages. This makes the enterprise independent of many external factors, and the enterprise can even sell the excess energy generated to the energy system at the so-called “green tariff”. A solar power plant for business should cover the costs in 5-7 years, and will operate for at least 25. The state supports the development of green energy, so entrepreneurs can try to get additional benefits, grants or loans for the so-called “SPP for green tariff”.
Owners of private solar power plants can sell the electricity at the so-called “green tariff” – 576.91 kopecks/kWh. This is about 14.5 eurocents for each kWh of electricity transmitted to the electric power line. To get your own solar power plants for the “green tariff”, you are required to obtain technical conditions. They must be provided by the local electricity distribution system operator. This will help determine the available electric power line capacity and the possibility of connection. Only after that can you begin selecting and mounting equipment. After that, you will have to complete documents. Your electricity distribution system operator should explain the procedure. However, you will most likely be asked to prepare the following list of documents:
The last stage is concluding an agreement to sell excess electricity at a “green tariff.” The process is not fast, but over time it brings good passive income. Pay attention to an important aspect: if you plan to mount a solar power plant for personal electricity consumption, you do not require to obtain a connection permit. Solar power plants for business can also sell electricity at a special tariff, however, the algorithm for installing such a solar power plant will be a little more complicated and such a power plant will require a license if its capacity exceeds 150 kW.
The cost of a solar power plant depends on several key factors. First of all, its capacity is of importance. In fact, the more electricity you require to generate, the more panels and equipment you will have to purchase. This increases the price. Therefore, a solar power plant for enterprises and for personal household will be very different. The type of solar power plant is in second place. Network power plant (on-grid) is the cheapest option, because it operates without batteries. Autonomous power plant (off-grid) will cost more, because it requires batteries to store energy. The most expensive is hybrid one. It combines the functions of a network and an autonomous power plant. Solar power plants for business are usually hybrid.
The quality of the equipment also plays an important role in pricing. Expensive panels of well-known brands have higher efficiency and durability, budget options are less productive, but also cost less. The cost of the total check increases and the complexity of mounting, location and all logistics in general. Do not forget about additional factors – warranty and maintenance. In general, such calculations are very individual and you will not be able to find answers to all questions using the phrase “solar power plants price” in a Google search. You require to consult specialists.
Firstly, analyze the average electricity consumption (kWh per month) according to bills or according to the meter and determine which devices will operate from the solar power plant (lighting, air conditioners, appliances, etc.). Then calculate the required capacity of the power plant (for example, for a household – 5-10 kW, for a business – 30-100+ kW). Often, consumers want to purchase solar power plants for a “green tariff”, that means not only for their personal demands, but also for the selling the generated electricity. In this case, the calculation will be different, we recommend doing it together with a specialist.
Then choose the type of solar power plant (network, autonomous, hybrid) and solar panels (monocrystalline, polycrystalline, thin-film). Recently, photovoltaic panels (PV modules) with silicon photovoltaic cells have become popular. They are really well suited for household or commercial installations. But if you are planning to build a large, powerful station, it is better to choose solar power plants that use different technologies. Each of these technical aspects is very important, but finally, do not forget to discuss with the company the place where you are planning to mount the panels. Many aspects will also depend on the location of the solar power plant.
Usually, a solar power plant for business has all the main components. First of all, these are solar panels that convert solar energy into electricity. An expensive and very important component is an inverter. It exactly converts direct current into alternating current (which is required for further use). Inverters can be networked (operate with the electric power line), autonomous (for independent systems with batteries) and hybrid (combine both types).
If the power plant is to operate without access to the electric power line or provide backup power, batteries are required. They are even purchased with solar power plants for personal consumption. Batteries can be lithium-ion (long-lasting, fast-charging) or lead-acid (cheaper, but less reliable).
An autonomous solar power plant will additionally require a charge controller for the batteries. The kit also includes cables, connectors and a security system for stable operation and protection of the power plant. In general, the composition of the station depends on its type: network stations require only panels and an inverter, autonomous ones – batteries and a controller, and hybrid ones – combine both options. The choice of kit depends on the requirements of the business, the level of energy consumption and budget. It is also worth noting that a mounting system and fasteners are required to mount the panels. They are chosen depending on the type of roof or land plot.
Buying solar panels is not difficult at the moment, it is enough to contact experts. The experienced Unisolar company offers a range of services for the implementation of solar power plant projects. Modern technological capabilities are used for this. You can buy a solar power plant in Kyiv, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lutsk, Lviv and other cities of Ukraine. The Unisolar company provides the following services:
At our company you can buy a solar power plant in full configuration and with a warranty from the best world manufacturers.
It is quite difficult to create solar power plants in Ukraine on your own. This process involves not only designing and purchasing a technical base, but also a legal aspect. Environmentally friendly energy that can be generated independently is quite attractive. Nowadays it is possible to mount solar panels on the roof of a house or equip a specially designated area for this purpose. With proper design, solar panels for enterprises and private use will have many advantages:
